MARCH 1ST 2008>>>

It's seems very likely that the next Mastodon album will be released in September 2008. The album at this stage does not have a title however one song name has been revealed. "
The Ghost of Karilla" is one that has been confirmed by drummer Brann Dailor.

In a recent Rock Sound article  "I dont want to give the theme away but I think the song title will leave a few people guessing. It's top secret. I can't divulge that information. It's more fun keeping it under wraps, but you can be assured that it's definitely another MASTODON record which is going to further in a couple of different directions and the stuff we've written so far is heavier than I expected."

MASTODON's cover version of the THREE DOG NIGHT track "One" is currently being used in the ad campaign for the upcoming multiplatform videogame "Army of Two". A trailer for the game featuring the song can be viewed below.

In tour news...SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED, DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON will the main stage on the first Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival tour, set to kick off July 9th at the White River Amphitheatre in Seattle. The tour will hit 30 cities in the US and Canada between early July and late August.

BITS & PIECE'S...

As you may have heard in the press in recent times, Brent was hospitalized over an incident after the VMA Award's earlier this month. Now I'm not going to go into details as they are all over the net, but an update from the man himself say's he is doing fine and playing guitar like a demon and coming out with heaps of riffs for the next album which is being written right now.

Look out for an L.A show with QotSA on October 29th. Also keep an eye for a new addition to the Mastodon family on stage.

The band look likely to record in January or February 2008 for a release later in the year.

So Mastodon didn't win a Grammy, but they sure looked sweet on the red carpet. Congrats to Slayer who did take home a little statue.

On other news, the forum has now been taken down due to the fact that the official forum is now stable and I can use the space for exciting new downloads which should happen within the next month or so.

The discography section will be updated over this coming weekend as a few new promo's have found there way here including a little know Naked Burn radio edit.

The Australian Tour has been selling extremely well and most shows will be probably sell out very soon.

On release news, there are rumblings that there might be a new release of sorts coming out soon, and possibly not on Warner's. More news when everything's official.

Mastodon to Make Network Television Debut on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and Then Off to Europe With Tool
NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 04, 2006 -- Progressive rock quartet Mastodon will head to New York after a sold-out U.S. tour to make their first national television appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on November 1, 2006 (guest star to be announced). With a Wednesday night viewership of 2.4 million, this is major television exposure for the Atlanta fan favorites, whose critically acclaimed Reprise Records debut album, "Blood Mountain," has sold more than 30,000 copies since its release two weeks ago.

Pitchfork Media dubbed the album a "Best New Music" pick with an 8.7 review, saying: "If 'Blood Mountain,' their brilliantly upsized and unrelenting third CD, doesn't confirm their position as the greatest big-time metal crew on earth, I demand a state-by-state recount." The band is currently Number One on Billboard's Hard Rock chart.

Immediately following "Late Night," Mastodon are off to Europe to begin a tour opening for rock behemoths, Tool, with stops across Europe at major arenas. "We are honored and elated to be joining Tool for their European tour. Having the privilege to share the stage with such an inspiring and admirable artist will truly be a unique experience for Mastodon -- a dream come true," says the members of Mastodon (Brent Hinds, Troy Sanders, Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher).

Mastodon's Critically Acclaimed "Blood Mountain" Debuts at #1 on Billboard's Hard Music Chart and at #32 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart!
"If 'Blood Mountain,' their brilliantly upsized and unrelenting third album, doesn't confirm their position as the greatest big-time metal crew on earth, I demand a state-by-state recount" (score 8.7) -Pitchfork

"Underneath all this medieval blood and thunder are actual tunes brimming with rollercoaster riffing..." (4 stars) -Rolling Stone

"Hearing 'Blood Mountain' in its entirety is like awaking from a coma to discover you have working ears -- in which case you know, this one gets a six!" (5 out of 5) -Alternative Press

"'Blood Mountain' is a strong record by a powerful band..." -The New York Times

Mastodon's critically acclaimed debut album, "Blood Mountain," has sold more than 24,000 copies in the U.S. its first week of release. In addition, sales in the U.K. have catapulted the Atlanta, GA-based group into the Top 50 with more than 50,000 records shipped internationally -- an amazing start for the band. Mastodon are currently touring the U.S. on their first headlining run in support of "Blood Mountain" (w/Converge & the Bronx), including a sold-out show at New York City's Webster Hall. Now Mastodon are preparing for what is shaping up to be an equally successful West Coast leg, including a date at Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theatre on September 29.

Mastodon have been received with open arms by MTV, which premiered the group's first video, "The Wolf is Loose," on "Headbanger's Ball" on September 9th. The quartet will appear as special guests on the program on September 23rd. In addition, on September 23rd, MTV2 will air "Mastodon Makes an Album," which offers fans a glimpse of footage taken of the band behind the scenes and in the studio, plus two live songs captured during the current Unholy Alliance Tour. You can also catch the video in rotation on FUSE TV.

The next step for Mastodon will be the release of their radio single, "Colony of Birchmen," coming soon. They also plan to tour Japan next month, followed by a European tour in late November. Bottom line, there is much more Mastodon to come...!!
